Changes in 2.61:

• Pasting or dropping text files with patch names onto Patchlist Windows now uses a 'Patch Delimiter' popup menu in the paste sheet - so make sure you set it properly for the list you want to import. This allows you to import names which include commas or tabs - as long as there is a consistent name delimiter.


• Any 'double quote' characters in imported text files that don't use quotes as delimiters will now be converted to 'single quotes'.


• CherryMangler updated to 1.1 fixing the XML bug described above.
• CherryMangler is now available as a seperate download, and is no longer packaged in the CherryPicker folder.

CherryMangler

• Standalone batch converter specifically designed for MOTU users who also run ProTools
• Converts entire folder of MOTU midnams (including subfolders) into ProTools compatible files
• Creates middev file in Digidesign format for all entries it finds in the source folder
• Converts 'Custom Banks' into 'Standard Banks'

Sibelius Export

• Exports selected banks to Sibelius Sound Set file

Remap Custom Banks

• Copies all patches in Custom Banks into banks with unique bank selects
• To help make MOTU files compatible with ProTools (which does not support custom banks)

Add GM or E-mu categories

• Add a complete set of empty 'category' banks with one button push
• Move patches into the empty banks to create your own custom banks easily

Other Changes

• Format and Compatibility options moved from Prefs to Main Window and Save dialog
• If CherryPicker detects both MOTU and Digi middevs in the MIDI Devices folder, it asks you to choose which to use

Integrated Middev editor

• The launch button is inside the Device tab
• Add/Delete/Edit or copy settings from one device to another
• "Save" immediately updates the selected entry

New Device setup wizard

• Triggered by selecting "New" in the File menu
• Creates a new file and folder for a 'new' manufacturer inside the 'Midnam Home' folder (Preferences)
• Creates a middev entry for the new device
• Links to AudioMIDI Setup to allow you to verify connections
• Creates Default mode and channel sets

Automatic middev entries/files created for missing devices

• If you select a file from the "Open" menu that:
• - contains no manufacturer/model (OMS/FreeMIDI)
• - does not pass a case-sensitive comparison of mfg & model with any middev entries (midnam/Cubase)
• Then CherryPicker asks you to find a match (like AMS), or will create a new middev entry for it.

ProTools midnam compatibility

• Save any patchfile in ProTools compatitble midnam format (set option in preferences)
• Filters out unsupported tags and reorganizes modes and channel sets

Cubase format support

• Reads and writes in Cubase format
• Cubase defines modes rather casually - and cannot handle channel sets (all on, or only one)
• CherryPicker maps Cubase 'modes' to Channel Sets
• Automatically renames files saved in Cubase format to <mfg> <model>.txt (lower case)

Giga export lists support

If you use GigaStudio's export command to create a patch dump:
• - Create a bank in CherryPicker to receive it
• - Open the new bank's patchlist window
• - drag the Giga file onto an opened patchlist window
CherryPicker will take care of all the reformatting

Controller name lists supported

• New tab added.
• Pushing "+" will add a default list with all standard names entered
• Double click to edit any controller name

User formatted patch clipboard for pasting into Logic banks

• Allows simple 'exporting' of patch lists
• Push the "Copy" button in a patchlist window to access the formatting dialog
• Copies straight to the clipboard (for immediate pasting into Logic)

Renumber patches and display numbers

Renumber MIDI patch change values or ASCII display for all (or a selection) patches in a bank

Change channel sets or Bank Selects for multiple banks

Select multiple banks, then click the Channel Set or Bank Select column header

Audition MIDI files allow track selection

Select any track(s) within a MIDI file for auditioning patches

Mode and Channel Set handling simplified and automated

• CherryPicker guarantees at least one mode and one channel set if the patchfile has the 'CustomDeviceMode' attribute set
• Deleting channel sets that have banks attached brings up a sheet allowing the user to reassign them to another channel set
• Channel sets cannot be created for a mode if all the modes channels are already allocated
